Fernalee is a Chinese restaurant on Beach Road, Christies Beach. Everything is cooked to order, with a Thai menu alongside.
Cooked to order
Nothing is made in advance and held. Your order goes to the wok when you place it, which is why a busy weekend takes a little longer.
The Chinese menu runs the length of the tradition: Chop suey, Sweet and sour, Black bean, Cantonese, Mongolian, Szechuan, Satay and Duck. A vegetarian section that isn’t an afterthought, and a short European list for whoever came along and just wants something simple.
The Thai menu sits alongside it: Green and Red curries, Lemongrass, Roasted chilli and Pad Thai — cooked by the same hands.
How ordering works
There’s no app. You ring 08 8384 2288, one of our friendly staff picks up and gives you a pick-up time. Delivery is dinner only — from 5pm until we close, six nights a week — with a $30.00 minimum and a delivery charge depending on distance. There’s no lunchtime delivery, but you’re welcome to collect.
Paying. In store we take card and cash. Home delivery is cash only — our drivers can’t process cards, so have it ready before they knock.
Allergies
Tell us when you order and the kitchen will do what it can. That said — while care is taken, traces of nuts, meat, pips, wheat and seafood can be found in our dishes. Several entrées contain pork even where the name doesn’t say so; the menu marks these.
